"Love"

First of all, being open minded means listening and tolerating others ideas not supporting relationships and showing too much skin.
Falling in love is natural. But, how you react to that feeling isn't.
You know relationships are wrong, especially in Islam.
You know they most probably won't last.
You know people will talk, ruining your reputation/family name.
Try to step aside and not give too much face.
UNTIL you're old enough and you're extra sure you're getting married. AND inform your parents.
Cause for those who have experienced it or read blogs: you fall in love, you let go, you cry, you move on and your reputation is almost ruined. Get my point? There's no point of wasting your time in a relationship knowing what you're doing is wrong. Wait 'til you get married.
I can't tell you whether you can have guy or girl friends (there's a space between "girl" and "friend") or not. Your mother should know if you do instead anything get's serious.
KNOW YOUR LIMITS! And make sure that 'friend' knows there limits or you better run away, haha.
